…It’s like a jazz “house party” without the clean up.
Not just for “jazz lovers”. Our Colorado music programs present pop, blues, Latin, funk, swing and other styles interpreted in modern jazz grooves with the added magic of jazz improvisation.
At The Jazz Soirée (swah ray) the focus is on the music. We bring in some of Colorado’s finest jazz musicians. Yes, you will enjoy the warmth socializing with friends old and new, but music here is not just background. In these concerts, you will be able to hear and engage with every nuance of the jazz performance. Our members and guests like it that way. We choose a venue that is smaller, attractive and intimate, like an art gallery, and one that has good acoustics. In that setting music, musicians and audience interact in an extraordinary experience.
Great Small Jazz Band Swing Music
Saturday, July 12, 8:00 – 10:30 PM
The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center
30 W. Dale Street
We are serving up some delicious helpings of summertime standards. No, not barbeque or corn on the cob or lemonade but some of the great swingin’ jazz standards played with passion and style. You will hear songs from Tin Pan Alley, Broadway and Hollywood and The Real Book of standards played by some of Colorado’s finest.
The FluteDaddy quartet, with Joseph Liberti on flutes, will be doing the cooking. The rhythm section for this Jazz Soirée is made up of players that some cats might call “heavy,” and includes some of the very best players in Colorado – David Hanson on the grand piano, Marc Neihof on bass and Michael Marlier on drums. This group swings hard!
This interactive concert was specially programmed for participants in The Art Of Jazz Seminar series. Jazz Soirée members and the public are invited. We are in the newly “sound conditioned” music room at FAC for this event. The chairs are comfy and the bar will be open. Join friends new and old for this fun, interactive music experience.
